Elissa graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2006 with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. During Elissa’s first 10 years as a physical therapist, she gained experience in a wide variety of physical therapy settings and multiple U.S. states while working as a traveling therapist. During this time, she also managed to further her PT career by returning to the classroom and receiving her doctorate transitional degree (DPT) in 2015. Elissa continued her passion for learning and received her Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) designation from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). The OCS is one of the highest levels of certification designated by the APTA. After living in Chicago for the last 6 years, Elissa has returned to her hometown of Grand Rapids and is so happy to be back practicing in West Michigan. She has a strong interest in orthopedics, sports medicine, as well as pediatric physical therapy. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, traveling, and cheering on the Spartans.
