Laurie earned a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at Grand Valley State University in 2001. Laurie then became board certified as an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist (OCS) in 2008 and later received her Doctorate of Health Science in Physical Therapy from The University of Indianapolis in 2013. Laurie is an associate professor at Grand Valley State University and teaches physical therapy students in Examination Techniques, Orthopaedic Pathology, Treatment of Orthopaedic Injuries, and Evidence-Based Practice. Laurie is on the editorial board of The International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy and has 9 peer reviewed publications in both national, and international medical journals.
